Prayer Flag Necklace - Sterling & Jeweler's Brass

Handcrafted solid brass prayer flags strung across a weighty sterling silver rolo chain. Small batch of 3 available!

These chonky little flag charms are approx 1/2", formed individually from high grade jewelers brass and created to appear slightly wavy and aged. Seven flags, symbols as pictured, layout will vary. The sterling chain is adjustable 16" or 18"with a sterling swivel clasp.

This piece is both dainty & delicate yet super strong & weighty. My favorite layering necklace for over 10 years.

Here's my original 2010 prayer flag description via Etsy, for grins:

I have quite a few Tibetan prayer flags strung around my house, having always admired Buddhism and the prayer flag tradition. I was inspired to make a prayer flag necklace as a sort of talisman for myself after a dear friend had my child's name placed on a prayer flag through the Love Hope Strength Foundation. (My sweet kiddo was diagnosed with stage IVb lymphoma at 8yo in 2009 and is currently in remission). LHS prayer flags are carried around the world every year and displayed to honor of those who have fought cancer. There's a flag out there somewhere, maybe at the top of Mt Everest, with my baby's name on it. A beautiful tribute. A percentage of all prayer flag sales will go to LHS indefinitely.

"Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. The flags do not carry prayers to ‘gods,’ a common misconception, rather the Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion into all pervading space. Therefore, prayer flags are thought to bring benefit to all."

These prayer flags can be crafted in sterling, copper, brass or gold.
